MEET OUR TEAM 

Bermuda Gymnastics Association Coaching Staff

All Full-time staff are First AID and CPR AND SCARS trained, certified to teach gymnastics by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and screened annually to ensure the leadership that is provided to our BGA membership is nothing but the Best!

Anna Balada - Acting Head Coach 

Anna has been coaching gymnastics since 1998, she is from Barcelona and fell in love with the sport when she started as a gymnast at 12 years old. She has always combined her studies with her gymnastics career, she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Sports High Performance, both specialized in Women Artistic Gymnastics. Anna has coached gymnasts and teams winning Regional and National Spanish Championships for several years, and she prepared gymnasts from a young age to entering the Olympic Training Center in Barcelona, where she had the chance to coach as well. In 2013 Anna decided to broaden her gymnastics knowledge, and she travelled to International Gymnastics Camp (USA) for 3 summers, there she coached high level gymnasts and got promoted to supervisor and lead coach, while achieving the IGC Professional Coaching Diploma. 
In 2016 Anna moved to Bermuda to take over the role of Head Coach at Quality Gymnastics, she successfully grew the gym, and created a very competitive team that obtained multiple podiums at national and international level.

 Anna demonstrates the attitude that she expects from her gymnasts, that hard work and consistency are the key ingredients to success.

Rebecca Wentling - Senior Coach

Rebecca is from the United States and has 35 years of coaching experience. She has been previously a head coach, recreational director and team coach throughout her career. She has coached in the United states, the Bahamas and was previously Recreational Director here at BGA in Bermuda.
Rebecca has experience with levels 3 through 10 as well as the Excel program in the USA. 
She also has experience with boys competitive gymnastics. She has experience with choreography and dance.
Rebecca has helped to bring numerous gymnasts and teams to win state individual and team championships. She has also had two athletes that have scored perfect 10.0 scores at thier respective state championships. 
  Rebecca is F.IG. 1, Meet Director, Safety, CPR, AED and Safesport certified. She also holds kinder accreditation. She has also has anti doping certification.  Rebeca also has been previously a certified judge.  Rebecca also holds a degree in web design and multimedia. 

Pilar Sanchez - Recreational Coordinator and Senior Coach

Pilar graduated from college with a Bachelor of Physical Education and has worked for more than
20 years as a Physical Education teacher and Rhythmic Gymnast coach in her home country Colombia. She is a member of the Academia FIG and is a Level III Rhythmic Gymnastics coach. She has specialized in Rhythmic Gymnastics, taking several courses in Columbia and Spain. Pilar oversaw the regional team whose gymnasts represented Colombia at the South American Championships, Pan-American Games and Central American Games.
