All Full time staff are first aid and CPR trained, certified to teach gymnastics by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and screened annually to ensure the leadership that is provided to our BGA membership is nothing but the Best!

Adriana Forde – Head Coach

Born and raised in Canada, Adriana comes to Bermuda with over 16 years of coaching experience. Forde has always been passionate about gymnastics and expanding her knowledge within the sport by training and coaching in each of the very exciting disciplines gymnastics has to offer. Forde attained Brock University where she earned her honours degree in Kinesiology, which she complimented with graduate studies in Exercise Science for Health and Performance. Forde has multiple sport specific certifications and recognitions in the sport of gymnastics that has lead her to gain opportunities such as taking athletes to Provincial/ Eastern/ Canadian Championships, Junior and Senior Pan Am trials, the Commonwealth Games and Youth Olympics.  “I strive to improve the quality of life in others through the power of knowledge and goal setting. My goal is to embrace the Bermudian culture while enhancing the BGA athletic performance both on island and overseas”.

Kim McHardy – Senior Coach - Pre-Competitive Team Coordinator & Meet Director
Kim first started coaching as a volunteer in 2006 for my local club, Ynys Môn Gymnastics Club in Anglesey, North Wales, UK. She is a qualified UKCC Women's Artistic Level 3 Coach and UKCC Pre-School Level 1 Coach through British Gymnastics and has been coaching full time since 2011 becoming Director and Facility Manager of YMGC.  Kim helped take the Club from a sports centre ran charity catering to 100 children to a social enterprise catering to 500 children in it's own dedicated facility.  She has been coaching in Bermuda since September 2017 after previous experience with the Club through the Natwest Island Games. She is also an FIG qualified Women's Artistic Judge and has judged regionally in the UK, at previous Celtic Cup Championships and Island Games.

William Chin
– Senior Coach - Boys Program Coordinator
William “Billy” Chin has joined the BGA coaching staff for the 2018-2019 season from Boston, Massachusetts. From 2011 to 2018 he studied Rehabilitation, Disability, Mental Health & Substance Use Counseling at Springfield College and competed on the Division 3 Collegiate Men’s Gymnastics team. Billy specialized on the Pommel Horse, Still Rings, High Bar and Parallel Bars while competing. From 2015 to 2018 he served as the Men’s Assistant Coach at Springfield. Here, he helped develop and implement workout programs, as well as assisted with the collegiate recruitment process. He hopes to bring the “Tradition of Excellence” that Springfield College has taught him to Bermuda in everything that he does.

Pilar Sanchez - Senior Coach - Recreational Coordinator
"Practicing dance, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Artistic Gymnastics for more than 15 years was the most important experience in my life!" Pilar decided to make this her lifestyle. After graduating from college with a Bachelor of Physical Education, Pilar specialized in Rhythmic Gymnastics taking several courses in her home country of Columbia and in Spain. She is a member of the Academia FIG of which she is a Level III Rhythmic Gymnastics coach. As a Rhythmic Gymnast coach since 1993, she was in charge of the regional team whose gymnasts were part of the national team on numerous occasions representing Colombia in important events such as South American Championships, Panamerican Games and Central American Games.

Dermot McGrath - Senior Coach - Preschool and Afterschool Coordintor
Dermot McGrath originated from Ireland and with an educational background in Aerospace engineering. After this intense occupation, he took a step away to develop his family and found a new passion for coaching. Dermot started volunteer coaching at his daughters club in the United Kingdom. He continued working and developing his passion for gymnastics, which lead him to opportunities in Asia for the last 14 years. In his last position as Head Coach, Dermot had the pleasure of working in the largest International School in Malaysia. Now continuing his work here in Bermuda he looks forward to a new dynamic as the Preschool and After School program Coordinator.

Sophie Fruad - Conditioning Assistant Coach
Growing up in Bermuda, Sophie was involved in a variety of different sports but her main passion was swimming and was a competitive swimmer for most of her life. She represented Bermuda in many overseas meets, such as the CARIFTA Games. Sophie is a recent graduate of Dalhousie University in Canada with a Bachelor’s of Science (Honours) Degree in Kinesiology. While in university, she discovered a love for movement analysis and the musculoskeletal system. She hopes that this passion will help her in role in injury prevention and strength programs with the Bermuda Gymnastic Association. Although she was not a gymnasts herself, Sophie is looking forward to learning more about the sport and gaining more experience with working with athletes of all ages.
